Blacktopia: How are you Pop-Lodi, are you ready for this interview?
Pop Lodi: Yes! Most definitely let's get into it.
Blacktopia: For those that may not know, how would you describe your music and yourself as an artist?
Pop Lodi: Magnetic! Flamboyant a Wordsmith.
Blacktopia: Who are the types of people that you make your music for?
Pop Lodi: For those who can relate to the harsh realities of life. Original 90s sound.
Blacktopia:Who are some of the inspirations and influences?
Pop Lodi: Slick Rick,Cool G Rap, Rakim, Big daddy Kane, Krs one, Big L, 2 Pac, Nas, B.I.G, AZ, Jay-Z, Half a Mil, Raewon.
Blacktopia: Who are some of your non musical influences and inspirations?
Pop Lodi: One tracked mind MC'S. I like for my mind to get sent on a journey you know what mean?
Blacktopia:What would you say has been 3 of the biggest highlights of your music career so far?
Pop Lodi: Meeting Capone from CNN when I was bout 17 at an after hour. Me, him and a
few others got crazy drunk that night was mad fun real dude. Me
performing at Toads place in New Haven CT for the CT awards show, that
was cool. 3rd me being a student of the game learning while
creating.
Blacktopia: What was the worst thing you've experienced in your music career and how did you bounce back from it?
Pop Lodi: The
worst thing for me was drinking before a performance. I over came that
by falling back from drinking period. When I do sip it's NEVER before a
performance never again.
Blacktopia: Despite the Covid19 pandemic, what plans do you have for the rest of the year?
Pop Lodi: Continue to work hard. Creating new ideas, record! record! record!
