Information on the upcoming BREAKTHROUGH movie

When God has a calling on your life, all things are possible; and when you put Him first before anything, He will give you the desires of your heart. As a Christian, I truly believe that God has called me to minister His word through filmmaking. Without a doubt, it is my passion to produce quality entertainment that inspires and uplifts as well as captivating all audiences through the faith based industry.

Since the beginning of this year, I have been given a great opportunity to produce my fourth project entitled, Breakthrough. However, in order for the movie to be successful, we are asking for donations to support the project.

Brief Synopsis:

'Breakthrough' is an inspirational faith based film, which tells the story of a young aspiring ballet dancer (Heaven) who is destined for greatness. Her mother (Faith) is a single parent; facing many challenges of her own as she supports her daughter’s passion. Her father (Jared) financially supports her; however (Jared) has found new love and is engaged to be married for the first time. Her grandmother (Grace) is the glue that keeps the family together. Heaven’s journey takes a turn for the worse when she is forced to call the police on her mother’s abusive boyfriend (William). (William) being a first time defender, was charged with a simple assault/misdemeanor and placed on house arrest. Affected by the outcome, (William) becomes psychotic and seeks redemption to prove his love for (Faith). Despite the circumstance, (Heaven) has to cope with the reality of her family’s struggles while pursuing her dreams. As the story unfolds, (Heaven) will be challenged by tough decisions, pushed to her potential, and embraces her destiny that God has planned for her. His grace over her life will position her path to overcoming life’s adversities which will ultimately propel her to greatness.

As the writer and executive producer for this project, I strongly believe that this is a story that needs to be told, because it addresses domestic violence, which is a very sensitive subject in our society that families are faced with every single day.

In March, I was blessed to bring on Charmin Lee to the project as the executive producer and director. She is most known for her role as Maya’s Mom Jeanette on “GirlFriends.” Since then, her career has continued to soar with big screen credits like, “Alvin and the Chipmunks (Road Trip),” “5th Wave,” “Extra-Curricular Activities,” and “Curve Ball.” Ms. Lee’s television credits include “Outcast,” “Saints and Sinners,” “Being Mary Jane,” “Greenleaf,” “Vampire Diaries,” “The Quad,” “The Game,” “Bones,” “Born again Virgins,” “The Haves and Have Nots,” and “Containment” just to name a few. Currently, you can also find this talented actress every Saturday on CBS crime lab Director, Dr. Georgia Darby in “The Inspectors.”

This will be Charmin’s first film as a director.

Also, on the project is executive producer, Chris Scott.  She has been in theater for over 36 years and has spent time gracing the stage of NYC as an actress for several of those years. She is a former Audelco Award nominee in the category of Best Supporting Actress in a Stage Play. She is the owner of Trinity Performing Arts Academy. Several of her plays have toured in various cities and showcased in theater festivals throughout the country. She was Co-Producer of a featured film called “Making Moves” by the Baz Brothers Production.

With the collaboration of these two outstanding producers, we are ready to step out on faith and embrace the journey that God has for us. However, we need your help. In order to really breakout into the industry, we are trying to bring in a house hold name to market the project. We are asking for donations in an effort to secure a quality actor to sign on to the project. With your contributions, we will be able to create conversations with investors who could possibly show the project in theaters throughout the United States.

Thank you and we look forward to you supporting the vision.

A FILM ADDRESSING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

In March, Charmin Lee became a part of a film project as the Director and Co-Producer called “Breakthrough”. Charmin strongly believes that this is a story that needs to be told, because it addresses domestic violence, which is a very sensitive subject in our society that women are faced with every single day.

Without a doubt, it is the passion of Charmin and Writer/Producer, Corey Eugene and Producer Chris Scott to create quality entertainment that inspires and uplifts as well as captivate all audiences through the faith based industry.
