#WedNightPoetry: "Don't Lie to Me" by Adrienne Charleston

This is a poem I recently wrote with someone in mind. I let him read it and he said he was flattered and scared at the same time. Lol. Enjoy.

Don't lie to me -
I don't ask many questions
I don't make demands
All I ever wanted
Was for you to be my man
The more I observe
The more I see
I just have 1 request
Don't lie to me
I like when we are together
You make my soul feel at ease
You are a comfortable place
And I don't have to say please
But if you can't be truthful
Then just leave me be
You can lie to girls
Just don't lie to me
